Quick Fix: Virgin Mary

I started taking a Zumba Toning class that starts at 6:45p.m. I never thought I would say this, but I prefer to work out in the mornings... despite that fact I am trying my best to make it to the evening class. One problem? It interrupts my happy hour. I know, I know, but really....

I work at home and when my work day has ended, I like to have a cocktail. However, I am not about to  have a drink before I go to work out. So, in that vein, I started making a Virgin Mary before class so that I could enjoy the taste of my favorite drink, the Bloody Mary, without the booze. My bloodies are like a science. My husband and I spent an entire winter honing our recipe. The virgin version is just as good!

Funniest part is? I barely miss the vodka! It's hard to even tell the difference, honestly, with all the other goodness I have packed into this drink. This is perfect pre-workout, on a Sunday, or if you are pregnant and having a craving for a bloody!!

Look at all those fine ingredients ready to become a fancy pants drink!!! YUM!
Oh, and also note, my Star Wars cup. If you don't have a Star Wars cup, well, I will try to forgive you....

A lot of people garnish their bloodies with celery, and if you prefer celery, celery it up. But I prefer a pickle because I am a pickle fanatic. Hardcore. I also use pickle juice in my bloodies, virgin or alcoholic. WARNING: once you incorporate the pickle juice, there is no going back!

Fresh clove of garlic? Absolutely! It's one of my secret weapons to this drink. Without, it just won't taste as a POW~ trust me.

Press it right into the glass!

Next add your hot sauce. Today I used Tabasco sauce, tomorrow I might used Cholula chili garlic hot sauce. Makes no difference, unless it makes a difference to you.

A must for a great bloody (virgin or not) worcestershire sauce.

Let's talk horseradish because this is a personal preference thing all the way. Some people will like a little dollop (like me) and some people will prefer a huge dollop. Dollop like you do, honey!

Another little something that makes my bloody the bomb? Old Bay. I use it all the time and it adds that special wallop that will leave you coming back sip after sip.

Gotta add that pepper, too!

Once all your dry ingredients are in the cup, add that pickle juice! Now you have a use for all that juice and not a thing will go to waste.

Then add your bloody mary mix. I like Mr. & Mrs. T's Bold and Spicy, it's the one for me.

Stir it up with your pickle!!!!

It's bloody perfection!!!
If you want to de-virginize this bloody, find a bigger cup and add two ounces of vodka.
